Registered Professional Reporter- Is a certification distinguishes stenographic court reporters considered to be among the top contributors to the profession in terms technology, reporting skills, and professional practices. NCRA has administered its national recongnized certification program for court reporters since 1937, and many states currently accept or use the RPR testing in place of the state certification or licensing examinations.
Registered Merit Reporter- are certified reporters that have previously achieved the RPR and have proven their ability to write at a higher speeds up to 260 words a minute at 95 percent accuracy. Is a type of court reporting certification granted to a licensed and certified professional responsible for the transcription of speech into text taking place within a court hearing or trial.
Registered Diplomate Reporter- is designates the highest level of verification available to court reporters and distinguishes high-level, seasoned reporters as members of the profession’s elite. RDRs have demonstrated that they write at high speeds by having achieved the RMR and by passing a challenging written exam. Is a type of court reporting certification granted to a licensed and certified professional responsible for the transcription of speech into text taking place within a court hearing or trial.
Certified Realtime Reporter- are recognized as realtime reporters with knowledge of current technologies and a high proficiency of at least 96 percent reporting accuracy. Realtime reporting instantly translates the spoken word to text, allowing for an immediate transcript of proceedings. Is an entry level but important exam that certifies the ability of an individual to use a stenotype machine in real time and to manipulate the transcribed results using the Computer Aided Transcription method.
Certified Legal Video Specialist- are recognized for their high level of skill and understanding of all aspects of video deposition recording, court proceedings, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and deposition best practices. CLVSs have attended training that focuses on using video in the legal environment and have successfully passed a written exam as well as a hands-on production exam.
